We have been very busy here lately, not only with the website, but with personal business as well. We haven't been covering the news lately, and we hope to get back on track as soon as possible. That said, we are currently working on redesigning the website, and hope to get some major overhauls out in the coming months. Wait, you're still using Internet Explorer 6? Fear not, Firefox 4 has just recently been released and has gained a massive speed boost over past iterations. Firefox 4 is powered by the new Jaegarmonkey engine.  Firefox 4 also comes equipped with a whole slew of new features. Design wise, Firefox has taken a page out of Google Chrome's book. Tabs are now on top and all menu items are organized by the Firefox button located in the top left. 7 million people downloaded Firefox 4 in the first day. Motorola WiFi-Only Xoom Coming March 27th for $599

Motorola just confirmed via press release that a WiFi-only model of the Xoom tablet will be available starting March 27th for $599. It will be available in a number of major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam's Club, Staples, and Walmart. The Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet sports a speedy 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a 5 megapixel camera, and a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display. Of course, you could also get the 3G/4G Xoom on Verizon Wireless for $599 on a two-year contract. It's your choice.

Verizon Wireless Confirms, HTC Thunderbolt Coming March 17th

Verizon Wireless finally confirmed via press release that the HTC Thunderbolt will be indeed launching this Thursday, March 17th for $249.99 on a two-year activation agreement. The Thunderbolt is the first 4G LTE device to launch on Verizon, which boasts 12 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds. Verizon is generously including a 32 MB microSD card with the device and is also offering Mobile Hotspot, free of charge, until May 15. Hit the jump for details on the Thunderbolt.


Internet Explorer 9 Goes Live

Internet Explorer 9 has finally come out of the beta and RC stage and has gone live. The browser has gone through a major overhaul since IE8, with much welcome improvments to the UI, speed, and features. We were surprised how much Microsoft got right with IE9. One complaint many Android users have about the OS is the lack of a first-party music platform. Apple has iTunes for its iPhones. Microsoft has Zune for Windows Phone 7. While Microsoft has stated multiple times that the Xbox 360 will remain as its console for the next few years, it is interesting to note that Microsoft has started hiring hardware developers for the Xbox platform. There have been an increasing number of openings leading many people to believe that Microsoft is either working on an improved platform, a new console, or more upgrades to extend the life of the Xbox 360 platform.

Bing Beats Yahoo!, Slides into Second Behind Google

So there's this little search engine called Bing from Microsoft. You may or may not have heard of it. While it was a very small player in the search engine wars (if you can even call it that, with Google dominating), Bing has now surpassed Yahoo! in usage, with 4.4 percent over Yahoo!'s 3.9 percent. Google meanwhile is still happily dominating with a hefty 90 percent usage. We don't see Bing, or any other search engine for that matter, beating Google in the near future.
